Cassotta, Vincent (Anthony)

Cassotta, Vincent (Anthony), trumpet; b. Springfield, MA, 5 June 1959. He grew up in Enfield, CT with his parents, Catherine D. Cassotta (b. February 12, 1928) and Nicholas Anthony Cassotta (b. November 28, 1929). He received a BA in  Jazz Studies at Westfield State College and an MA in Music Education Central Connecticut State University. He's had private studies with Jimmy Maxwell, Roger Murtha, Dan Patrylak, Rolf Smedvig and Roderick  Chrochiere.

Cassotta has toured nationally with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. As a free lance trumpet player in the New England Region Vincent has performed with Frank Sinatra, The Manhattan Transfer, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Junior, Andy Williams, The Four Tops, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Warren Covington, Sergio Franchi. Vincent has performed in the pit orchestras for Annie, Grease, La Cage Aux Folles, and All That Jazz. Vincent has performed with the Springfield Symphony, Orchestra New England, The Sonny Costanza Big Band, and Bombay Jim and the Swinging Saphires.

Vincent was the jazz trumpet soloist for Chic Chicchetti and the Hartford Jazz Orchestra. While a member of The Hartford Jazz Orchestra Vincent performed with Dave McKenna, Gray Sargent,  and  Dick Johnson. Vincent performed with the Chic Chicchetti Orchestra on a PBS special for the Sergio Franchi Foundation. Vincent has also recorded with The Sonny Costanza Big Band. Vincent is currently freelancing throughout New England and is sought after as both a lead player and a jazz soloist.

Vincent was formerly the band director of Enfield High School, Enfield CT. While band director at Enfield High School, Vincent's Jazz Ensembles received many awards throughout the east coast including being selected as a finalist at the Berklee Jazz Festival, Berklee College Of Music, Boston MA.  Many of his students are now music educators, and jazz musicians. Vincent is currently an elementary instrumental music teacher, and is sought after as a trumpet instructor, clinician, and adjudicator. 

His wife is Doreen Cassotta and their children are Nicholas (b. 1996), Ann Marie (b. 1997), Jennifer Lee (b. 1983), and John (1989).
