Clarke, Brendan (William)
Clarke, Brendan (William), bass; b. Brisbane, Australia, 11 August 1975. He was raised in Canberra; he began the bass at age 11. In 1993 he enrolled in the jazz studies course at the Canberra school of music where after graduating was awarded the Drew Sydes memorial award for the most promising graduating student. In 1996 Brendan represented Australia at the Monterey jazz festival in California with the Canberra school of Music Big band.
Since leaving Canberra Brendan has had a wide range of performance experience including a one-year stint playing on the P&O cruise ship "Fair Princess." Now a resident of Sydney, he has performed with a wide variety of musicians including Dale Barlow, Bernie McGann, Mike Nock, Bobby Gebert and Gordon Brisker to name a few.
