Forbes, Joel

Forbes, Joel, bass player; b. New Haven, CT, 5 August 1956. He lived Manhattan for 2 years then in Westchester County, NY until he was 19. Then he lived in Telluride, Colorado for a year. After college, he lived in Manhattan for 10 years (1980-1990), then Greenpoint, Brooklyn until 1991. He's been in Goldens Bridge, NY since then. His father, Joel Forbs (b. NYC 1928) was a pianist on the New York City scene. His mother, Claire Forbes (maiden name Sheil) was born in NYC in 1927. His sister, Meg Forbes, was born in NYC in 1954.

He married Lenore Pemberton  in 1991. They have since separated.

He studied privately with Lou Stelluti for 3 years (1976-79).
