Gianni, Nick, saxophone. Started playing piano at age 7, and later moved to playing other instruments like drums, flute, and guitar. His grandfather was a professional tenor sax man and this drew him towards the jazz world. Eventually making his way to the tenor sax and the downtown New York City scene, Nick paid his dues at the living room scene and Squat Theater playing free jazz and funk with the likes of Luther Thomas and Philip Wilson.
Equally influenced by Sly and the Family Stone and James Brown as John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, and Sun Ra, he's comfortable in all contexts as well mixing the styles together. Nick has added his talents to many great projects over the years and currently performs with Furley, Mysterioso, Upshot, and Milquetoast, as well as some free jazz and jazz standard projects.
