Gibson, David (John David)

Gibson, David (John David), trombone; b. Mobile, AL, 13 October 1969. His father is E. Wayne Gibson and his mother is Merrily R. Snider. His sister is Rebekah L. Gibson. His daughter is Maya Ann Gibson.

He grew up primarily in Yukon, OK.  He graduated from Yukon High School in 1987. He got a BA Music, Trombone Performance, at The University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK, 1987-1993. He got a MM Jazz and Contemporary Media-Writing Skills at The Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY, 1993-1995.  He remained in Rochester until Feb. of 1999, at which time he moved to NYC.

He's been a member of the ensembles of Slide Hampton's World of Trombones 2000-present, The Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All Star Big Band 2000-present, The Hot Pants Funk Sextet +1 1999-present, George Lamond su Orchestra 2000-2002, Big Roots 1994-1998, The Wayne Escoffery Big Band 2000-present and Maucha Adnet and Daduka DaFonseca 2001.
