Greening, James

Greening, James, trombone, pocket trumpet, tuba, didgeridoo; b. Newcastle, Australia, 30 May 1962.

Began with Police Boys Band when 7 years old, later touring in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.  In the mid-80's, he moved to Sydney where he studied jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium, graduating in 1986.  With the Catholics toured Canada in '94 and Canada and Europe in '95.  Performed with the Australian Art Orchestra in India and Jackie Orszaczky in Hungary in '96, Europe in '96 and '97 with Wanderlust.  Also plays with The Umbrellas and leads his own group, The World According To lames.

Also works in John Pochee's band Ten Part Invention since its founding in 1986.
