Encyclopedia of Jazz Musicians
In 1991, he got his diploma in saxophone at the Conservatorio of music in Florence and started studying composition and jazz music. In July 1997, he was selected by Dave Liebman to attend his annual saxophone's masterclass in Pennsylvania (U.S.A.). He studied with Bruno Tommaso, Mauro Grossi, Paolo Fresu, Pietro Tonolo, Gianluigi Trovesi, Franco D'Andrea, Maurizio Giammarco, Paolino Dalla Porta and Dave Liebman.
He has performed with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino's Orchestra, under the conducting of Zubin Metha, George Pretre, Zoltan Pesko, Yoel Levi, Gianadrea Noseda and John Neschling. He has also performed with Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, Phil Markovitz, Ron Vincent, Matthias Schubert, Ed Neumeister, Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (guests : Peter Erskine, Palle Daniellson, John Taylor), Roberto Gatto, Stefano Battaglia, Gianluigi Trovesi, Paolino Dalla Porta, Marco Tamburini, Fabio Morgera and others.
He performed in the best known Italian clubs and in the jazz festivals of Doetinchem (Netherlands), Antverpen (Belgium), Ferrara, Siena, Prato, Musicus Concentus (Firenze), Bergamo, Lucca.
