Kahn, George

Kahn, George, piano; b. New York City, NY, 7 January 1952. He has a B.A. music, Honors in Composition, from Brandeis University 1973. His mother is Marcia Kahn (b. 1922). His father was Elliot Kahn (1920 - 1989). His brother is Paul Kahn and his sister is Linda Kahn Pickreign. He is married to Diana Zaslove Kahn, a professional singer (classical) and teacher. They have two children, Benjamin (b.11/10/83) and Evan (b. 9/13/93).
He has played and recorded with jazz luminaries such as Billy Higgins, Eric Marienthal, Bobby Rodriguez, Ernie Watts, Joe Labarbera and Dave Carpenter. His music captures the feel of the West Coast jazz scene of the 501s, with a neoteric edge.  Many styles are incorporated, including bebop, smooth jazz, blues, Latin and New Orleans rhythms.

Over 25 years in Los Angeles as a composer and arranger, George1s music has appeared in Television Movies for BET, Hallmark Hall of Fame, Disney Animation, as well as major ad campaigns for Lexus and others. In 1998 George created Playing Records, and has produced four albums of original music.
