Kaneko, Harumi

Kaneko, Harumi, vocalist, b. Tokyo, Japan, 19 January 1950.  A German major in college, Kaneko studied jazz voice with Sanae Mizushima, a star jazz singer of the 1930s and 1940s, and made her professional debut in 1980.  She recorded an album of new songs by Bob Dorough in 1982, and an album of Antonio Carlos Jobim numbers in 1986.  In addition to performing at concerts and recitals, Kaneko has also worked as a DJ.
