Langley, Jake

Langley, Jake, guitarist;

A graduate of the Concordia University jazz program, Langely was invited to attend the Banff Center for the Arts Jazz Workshop in 1996 and was awarded two Ontario Arts Council Chalmers Awards and a Canada Council Grant to study in New York City with jazz guitar legends Pat Martino and Jim Hall.

He has performed with The Doug Riley Quartet, Carol Welsman, P.J. Perry, Carlos Del Junco and many other Canadian jazz and blues musicians. He's recorded and toured with Fantasy recording artist and Grateful Dead associate, Merl Saunders, and soul legend Bobby 'Blue' Bland, as well as with Canadian recording artists One Step Beyond, Big Rude Jake, and Jibe. He is also a member of the jazz/soul band Planet Earth.

From 1994-1998, he led the Canadian jazz/pop group, the Tone Poets, which recorded two CDs and toured Canada and the U.S.
