Lester, Conrad

Lester, Conrad, saxophone; b. Roselle, NJ, 12 June 1931.

Worked and recorded with Freddie Roach (four years), Jimmy McGriff (off and on for 10 years), Joe Carroll and many organ groups including Specs Williams (5 years), Alvin Valentine (8 years), Groove Holmes (freelance), Bill Doggett (freelance), Delia Griffin (freelance), Larry Young Jr. (freelance) and David Brahm (2 years). He's also played sets with Buddy Rich, Pepper Adams, Grant green, Jack Mc Duff and Roy Haynes to name a few.  He played back up to many Rhythm and Blues artists including Arthur Prysock, Eda Jones, Chuck Jackson and many more.

He's currently freelancing around New York and New Jersey. He was profiled on 8/28/1998.
