Minucci, Chieli, composer, guitarist, arranger; b. New York, NY, 17 April 1958. His parents are Catherine Minucci (b. 1928) and Ulpio Minucci (b. 1917). Ulpio is a composer who's had his works released by Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, and in particular Julius LaRosa, "Domani." His sister is Nina Minucci (b. 1955).
Chieli Grew up in Queens, NY and has remained there (Forest Hills). He studied piano privately from ages 5-8. He began guitar at age 8 (studied with guitarist John Hotop for 3 years). He attended public schools Russell Sage and Hillcrest High. He attended Ithaca College and studied jazz big band arranging with Steve Brown. Also studied classical composition briefly with Cornell University's Karol Husa. He studied music composition with Nickolai Falgello, privately after college ended. From 1982 till present performed with many jazz and pop acts, eventually forming the Jazz fusion/world music group, Special EFX (16 releases), as well as establishing a solo career as a recording artist. In 1991 began composing for television and film, earning Emmy awards and nominations. In 2003 he was on tour in support. He has recorded with Lionel Hampton and Spyro Gyra, as well as major pop stars including Celine Dion, Lionel Richie, Mark Anthony, and many others.
He has two children, Siana (b. 1986), an acting student at Lee Strasberg School, NYC, and Gianluca (b. 1990), a bassist/guitarist.

Has composed over 500 individual cues; Composed background music, since 1997, for As The World Turns, and Another World, scoring over 400 individual cues; Composed "Fiesta Mexicana" for soundtrack to Brian dePalma's Snake Eyes, staring Nicholas Cage (1998); Composed "Super Smooth" for soundtrack to Bowfinger (Universal/1999), staring Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin; Composed "Surf and Turf" for soundtrack to The Beach Boys
