Schmeling, Paul

Schmeling, Paul, piano; b. Johnstown, PA, 25 July 1938.

Schmeling got his B.M., Boston Conservatory of Music and did graduate studies, Boston University. He began teaching at Berklee in 1961; for many years until his retirement ca. 2002 he was Chair of Piano there. He's done performances at numerous festivals, on radio and television, and with Art Farmer, Clark Terry, Slide Hampton, Ernestine Anderson, George Coleman, Carol Sloane, Frank Foster, Herb Pomeroy, Phil Wilson, Dick Johnson and others.
