Thompson, Harvey

Thompson, Harvey, singer; b. Detroit, Michigan, 28 July 1956. His parents are Johnnie and Charlotte Thompson. His brothers are Leon, Earl, Johnny Lee, James and Milton. His sisters are Geraldine and Loretta.

He had years of practice in talent shows and local jazz joints and has now done performances at Japanese concert halls and night spots in Turkey. Among his musical achievements are performing in the Ron Milner  musical "Crack Steppin"; numerous appearances at the Detroit Montreux Jazz  Festival; opening for legendary jazz saxophonist Joe Henderson; singing with the Benny Green Trio in Madrid, Spain; appearing at New York's Tavern on the Green with piano great Dorothy Donegan; and a follow-up engagement at the Tavern with jazzy cabaret pianist and singer Ms. Jo Thompson.
