Vuust, Christian

Vuust, Christian, saxophonist, clarinettist, and composer; b. Aarhus, Denmark, 25 December 1964. His mother is Lise Vuust (b. 1942 in Aarhus, Denmark) and his father is Jens Vuust (b. 1939 in Ebeltoft, Denmark). His siblings are Henrik Vuust (brother, b. 1967 in Haderslev, Denmark) and Clara Vuust (sister, b. 1974 in Aarhus, Denmark; she is a professional singer).

Vuust is an associate professor at Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, Denmark. Teaches saxophone, jazz ensemble and ear-training. He has recorded as sideman on at least 50 albums. He studied at Berklee College of Music in 1990-91, with teachers Herb Pomeroy, George Garzone, Hal Crook, Joe Viola, and Jerry Bergonzi. He has performed with Hal Crook, Jens Winther, Alex Riel, Lars Jansson, Audun Kleive, Per Jorgensen, and many others. Has toured with his own band in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Greenland, Iceland, England, and Germany.

His wife is Charlotte Skadhauge Vuust (b. 1966 in Esbjerg, Denmark). She is a professional singer. His son is Louis Skadhauge Vuust (b. 2001 in Aarhus, Denmark).
