Willis, Reggie

Willis, Reggie, double bass, music educator; b. Jackson, MS, 3 November 1934. He's been a music educator for over 26 years in Chicago public schools. He also spent 5 years as bass instructor at Wisconsin Conservatory. Designed two programs in Chicago school system, a traditional band with C. Orff process as a feeder system and 17 years in present position as first to design/teach Electronic Music with improv at the core of instructions, lunching first digital ensemble in performance in system. Performed with many greats while on call at Jazz Showcase during the 60's and 70s. Recorded and toured.
