Young, Eldee
Young, Eldee, acoustic, cello and electric bass, vocalist; b. Chicago, IL, 7 January 1936. He studied at the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, IL. He's formerly been with The Ramsey Lewis Trio and Young-Hold Unlimited as co-leader. performances include Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Apollo Theatre - New York; Newport Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival - Montreux, Switzerland; Longhorn Jazz Festival; Pori, Finland; Mexico City, nightclub, theater and college appearances all over the U.S. and Canada. He's performed with Nancy Wilson, Oscar Brown Jr., Joe Williams, T-Bone Walker, Joe Turner, Dizzy Gillespie, Dinah Washington and many others.

The Ramsey Lewis Trio up to 1965; Young-Holt Unlimited; Various recordings with such artists as James Moody, Sonny Stitts and others; Gold records received for "The In Crowd" and "Hang on Sloopy" with the Ramsey Lewis Trio. "The Soulful Strut" With Young-Holt Unlimited. Total of one gold album and three gold 45's.

Awards:
Recognition awards include those received from Downbeat, Record World and Playboy Magazines. Also honorary citizenship to the city of New Orleans, La and Artistic Excellence 2001-Compass of Singapore Award.
