Recently discovered, this live set presents Gillespie and Parker at the height of their powers. Gillespie delivers a marvelously articulate solo on his most celebrated composition, “A Night In Tunisia,” displaying astonishing agility and control in all registers of his trumpet. His quick-fingered, spitfire runs and harmonic eccentricities dramatically revolutionized trumpet playing, and his talent has not been surpassed since.
